As we represent Christ in this world, there is the reality that we will be hated, persecuted, and offensive to many. A servant is not above His master. In following Him, we too will face some of the same difficulties He endured. Despite all that, we are called to shine brightly for Christ in this dark world, and bear witness to Him.
Everywhere we look, we see the fingerprints of God, especially in His creation and created beings. Love is a beautiful thing. But do we understand it? Jesus invites us to abide in His love. Do we really even know what that looks like? Also, what does abiding in the love of Christ have to do with loving others? We were made by God’s love, in His image, to love, and Jesus shows us how. Are you abiding in the love of Christ?
What is more irritating? Stepping on a piece of gum, being cut off in traffic, or receiving an unexpected bill? Those are just a few things that rob our peace. What about bad news? Has your peace been shaken lately, by unexpected bad news? What about chaos in the world? Have those things robbed your peace recently? How can we maintain peace with Christ with so many irritations, and chaos, all around us?
How do you show love to the people you care about most? Do you bake chocolate chip cookies for them? Do you bring them a meal when they are sick? Do you invite them to your parties? Now what about Jesus? Do you enjoy a love relationship with Him that is intimate and personal? What does that look like? Your relationship with Jesus is the most important relationship in your life. Do you know what the Bible teaches about how to have a healthy love relationship with Him?
